Anyone have any experience with this saw. I can’t find any reviews online really. I have an opportunity to get one extremely cheap. So was just checking to see if anyone has this bandsaw. Thanks in advance ladies and gents

Looks nice. 1.5HP motor would make it the perfect small shop contender, but 1hp should be fine for most things.
I’m very happy with my steel city table saw so far, so I’d go for it.

How much will you be able to get it for?

That’s a killer deal.
I’d jump on it in a heartbeat.

I just bought a table saw directly from them at their warehouse. I was able see and touch all of their equipment. It’s all very well built. At $200 I’d jump on it in a hurry.

Greg,

Here’s my post on the first 3 days with my new steel city purchase with some pics. It’s not a band saw but my semi detailed first impressions on setting it up etc.

Couldn’t be happier with it. The fence that I didn’t initially like, turns out I love it. needed a little weight and tweaking but it’s a rock solid t fence.

I’d pay double what I payed for it tomorrow.

Glad to hear that. It’s not often you can be that happy with a purchase

Hey Greg,

If you can get that bandsaw for $200, it may be a good deal, but I have a couple questions/concerns. I don’t have any experience with that saw (reasons to come) but my employer is a Steel City dealer and I am the tool buyer, so work directly with SC. My concerns:

#1 I have been impressed overall with Steel City’s product for the price, but the one exception is the band saws. I see too many issues, especially with the blade guards and guides. I haven’t seen one yet where the guard lines up with the blade so you are forced to readjust the guides every time you change the guard height.

#2 and more important. The reason I don’t have any experience with that model is that they just came out. Like were first available to ship to dealers only a month ago. That is why you can’t find any reviews—it is too new of a model, so almost no one has any real experience with it, yet. Because of that, I have questions about how one would be available already at less than 1/2 of new pricing. Maybe I am just too suspicious, but have to wonder if there is either something wrong with it or if the saw for sale is actually an older model like the 50125.

If all is legit and you do your research, you might be scoring a great deal. Not trying to be a downer, but just wanted to make sure you had all the information available before making a purchase—I figured that’s why you were posting the question in the first place.

Good luck with your decision.
