I’ve had my Sawstop ICS 5HP 52” fence now for a week. I love it. It was a great challenge to get it with the weather problems and after multiple cancellations it finally made it last Friday Thanks again to Tom Temple and the folks at Downingtown Woodcraft. It was perfect and the quality is the best I’ve seen.

I had to change up the cable I’d bought. I wanted 110 at the saw too, so I got 10/4 and unfortunately the grommet on power box would not accept that. So I had to go back to the store and get 12’ more of 10/3 to get it wired up safely. After getting it put together and powered, made some test cuts and it’s really a pleasure to use. I had a scare first time I turned the switch on and no juice. Turns out I forgot to set the lockout switch to on! Duh moment for sure.

Anyway it’s together. I love the industrial mobile base. I can move that saw around with a pinky. The stock blade is ok, but I’ve ordered a new Forrest WWII to replace it. The Cuts on the 4/4, 5/4, and 12/4 were all square. On the 12/4 which was about 2 and 5/8” finished cut was ok, but showed some heavy tooth marks on the end grain. I’d give it a B+. I prefer the WWII blade though and will keep the stock blade as an emergency spare.

The DC is fantastic I changed it up a bit from the stock adapter for the over arm dust guard. The cover under the table swings wide so I won’t be able to use as much space under the table as I’d hoped but thats a small price to pay.

I also posted a much more detailed review over in the reviews section. Can’t wait to spend the week-end making sawdust.

Everybody have a great week-end.

Congrats on the new saw!

No doubt a fine choice. I just got my first real saw last week and love it. Not quite a sawstop but an upgrade from what I was using.

Can’t wait to see what you make with it.

It is always nice to get a new quality machine to play with.
