Topic tags/keywords: resource bandsaw lathe planer jointer tablesaw old arn american iron old iron iron auction machinery for sale

Good afternoon all, this morning I was perusing the web for school/government machinery auctions and stumbled upon a good one going on in California. It is through a site called Interschola and is going on now through 3/21/2014.

There were several killer deals on some heavy duty old arn being auctioned for a school. There were too many to mention but some notables were a Powermatic 20” bandsaw, floor model lathe and 24” planer. Yates 20” jointer, older Unisaw, a Delta 20” Bandsaw and a Clausing cabinet saw. All the machines looked to be in good to decent shape and are the 30-40 year old American arn that many are in search of. Most of the mentioned machines were going at killer prices $200 – $600.

Definitely worth a look for those of you in the California area. I’m all the way in Michigan so I figured I’d spread the word so others can take advantage of the opportunity. One of these days a deal like this will happen in my area when I actually have the money to cash in on a couple old classics.

Just checked the site out.
Lots of cool stuff and prices look good right now.
Most of the stuff is in Thermal which is out by Palm Springs.

Greetings –
InterSchola sells surplus assets for all types of public agencies, including school districts. When wood shop programs are updated, or closed :-( many times the equipment is sold by auction, through our services, on eBay. The condition ranges from a rusty hulk of a vintage cast-iron piece, to a modern, barely used item that’s almost new. LOTS of old, cast iron equipment from Delta, Rockwell (in all the variations) Powermatic, Walker-Turner, DeWalt, and Oliver can be found from time to time. More modern equipment is available on occasion, from companies such as Altendorf, Safety Speed-Cut, Bosch, Jet, and Grizzly.
The operating condition isn’t always known – in some cases, the equipment has been stored (indoors or out….) for months, or even years.
Items can be found by going to, or on eBay by seeking interschola as the seller.
Happy hunting!

I checked it out. Several machines were about 2 hours from me.

I considered bidding but, on thinking about my costs and the
fact that I’ve got what I need already I passed. Several
nice machines went pretty reasonably: ru50 pin router,
20” jointer, and a Newton 2 spindle boring machine.
