Hi,
looking for a second, third…opinion,ha

a friend sent me this pic of a built-in in her living room…
I haven’t seen it in person, in the room, or i wouldn’t be asking this question, ha

Does this look like Pine, or could it be some stained Poplar, or, etc…

any other perspectives, much appreciated!!

I suppose it could be pine but that’s the most walnut looking stain job I ever saw on pine if it is.
I sure don’t think its poplar; the grain is all wrong.

My first instinct is not pine, but it could be a really well done stain.

Stained pine. Well done, as Rick suggests. That’s what I see, anyway.

It looks like pine to me, they certainly did a good job of finishing it if it is.
