I read a post where another LJ was investigating a HH for his planer and it sent me on a quest to see what it would cost for my planer. $1300 I have a jet JWP-20H. Interestingly enough it lead me to Grizzly They had the best price. They were $300 cheaper than Byrd. Upon reading the specs I found it interesting that the same head fit 14 different machines made by 8 different manufactures. So really is there a difference in who’s name is on the machine.
I just wondered what your thoughts were.

Sometimes you pay extra for just the name, sometimes you pay extra for the dealer support or longer warranty, sometimes you actually get a higher quality tool for the extra money, but it varies with every single situation. Buy the tool, not the name.
