I just received an email from Woodcraft with a Groz PBC set on clearance. I just bough a used set of Bessy’s yesterday, but for the price I am tempted to order these as well. Has anyone used them? If so, how are they?

Thanks.

First time I’ve seen them.

IMHO, stick to the big names for support after the sale.
Bessey, Jorgensen and Jet all make parallel clamps that consistantly get high marks.
I like besseys for the handles.

Amazing that they would go on “clearance” so soon after they were released. I posted a similar question when I saw that they were first released: http://lumberjocks.com/topics/53559. I wonder if they will perpetually be on a “clearance” price.

I’ve played with them in the store and they are certainly a throw-back to the original Bessey K-Bodies that I use in a public shop I use. I have no doubt they would work fine, but found the handle to not be the most comfortable to use and the old WoodRiver parallel clamps had a more preferable handle. In addition, they are likely very similar to the ones sold by Peach Tree. Finally, in comparison to my Jet’s, or the Besseys and Jorgensens (which I don’t currently have), I would rather spend the extra money when I grow my collection.

I had a $50 gift card from Woodcraft, so I’m taking a flyer on these. I’m only out $40 or so total if they’re crap.

I have this clamps they are not bad .Handles could be better they are not very comfortable to grab but the clamps work well . This are definitely not bessey or jet clamps but for the price the do the job well . I also own some of the bessey clamps .

Last time they put these on sale i bought 3 sets. They are fine clamps and will work great. I like the metal handles you can torque them more than the standard bessy handles.

FYI, I remember playing with them in the store., and the clamping mechanism is very similar to the classic K Body, old WoodRiver clamps, and the Peachtree clamps I reviewed. I also wasn’t a big fan of the handle but the current sale price is hard to beat.

Got excited about buying clamps so I bought 4 sets of the Grozlings.

Put them to immediate use:
