I have tried to search for more info on scraper plane edge durability. Does the edge last as long as plane irons? The reason for asking is that I am not sure if scraping a board about 2×2 feet would require me to keep on resharpening the scraper blade.

I am still not quite convince with scraper planes as I still use cabinet scrapers and hand scrapers.

I’ve got the LV scraper plane. I’d say the edge lasts as long, or longer, than a standard plane blade. No issues with having to resharpen excessively.

The major advantage of the scraper plane versus a cabinet scraper is the large flat sole. It’s easy to take you piece out of flat if you get too aggressive with the the hand scraper. If you’re trying to surface a board that won’t plane well, the scraper plane is great. I bought mine after having a heck of a time with some QSWO, and then doing a project in african mahogany with some crazy grain.
