I don’t know if this is new news but the site seems to be down.

A couple months ago when I was looking around at possibly getting a radial arm saw of which there are tons of craftsman available used, upon looking through reviews I noticed many of these had a recall where you could get the safety components for free, I checked the site then and it was working, I did not pick a saw up then.

Recently I was offered a saw so I went to look to see if it was a saw under recall to find the site is down.

Just thought I would throw this heads up out there in case anyone was considering getting one of these saws expecting to get the safety additions to operate it in a more safe manner.

The site radialarmsawrecall.com appears to be down, for good I don’t know and I don’t know if the recall had an expiry date.

That’s a hosting problem. It is very difficult to get through
on the phone, but I think Emerson/Sears is legally bound
to keep the recall open. I may have the number written
down somewhere as I have a couple of saws I want to
decommission myself. Do be prepared to spend at least
1 hour on hold. It was a lot easier to get through when
the recall was fresh, but now the phones are apparently
understaffed and they will not return your call if you
leave a message.

Check out this CPSC press release

At the top, in red: ”Note: Remedy has changed

Apparently, they changed the recall on February 19, 2014 and are no longer providing the replacement parts. They are now offering the $100 option only.

Cheers,
Brad

Glad I got the replacement parts while they were available. The saw is worth more than the $100 you’d get to disable it.

Have your say...
