Topic tags/keywords: rack cart lumber Anybody got ideas or input on a rolling lumber / plywood rack? I thought I had schemed up a good one but it turned out to be a waste of time and materials. Sigh…. Thanks bros. -- "Yer young, you got yer health, what do you want with a JOB?" |

Try this one: http://lumberjocks.com/projects/42798 I did a smaller one – you can see it in my projects. Good luck -- No, I don't want to buy the pink hammer. |

If you’re looking for an all-in-one for lumber and plywood, this won’t work—but it looks great for lumber. But I’m starting a simple wall-mount lumber rack Christopher Schwarz designed. It is essentially 4 48” tall 2×4s that bolt to the studs of your workshop. You drill 7/8” holes every four inches in the 2×4s at a 5° angle. Cut 1/2” galvanized pipe in 12” pieces to hold the lumber. With the 4 inch distance between holes, you can move the pipes in a number of combinations to hold lumber. $30-40 for a pretty good, flexible lumber rack. -- "Man is the only animal which devours his own, for I can apply no milder term to the general prey of the rich on the poor." ~Thomas Jefferson |
