Topic tags/keywords: mahogany poplar finishing greene and greene question

Hi,
I made a Eight legged table and would like to have the drawers to slide smoother. Is there any advise out there that would make the drawers slide more easy. The drawer fronts are Mahogany and the sides and back is Poplar. The drawer slides is Poplar. Would any type of wax do the job

Wax will make a HUGE difference. I use MinWax on my drawer slides and they glide effortlessly.

I agree with Andy about using wax. However, if you want another option, look at UHMW tape. It is also great for making jigs that you want to slide easily.

Thanks you all. I will go for the wax deal because i won’t have space for the tape deal.
