I currently have a Ryobi ZRBTS10S 10” table saw and I am looking into upgrading. The main qualms I have with my Ryobi is the fence is terrible and the motor is very underpowered.

I’d love to be able to find a saw for under $250, so that has me combing local Craigslist ads. I came acrossed this Craftsman table saw with what looks like an upgraded fence, the asking price is $150 for the saw. I have been trying to do some research to find out what model it is while waiting to here back from the seller.

Anybody have any thoughts on this particular saw/model?

Looks like a nice deal on a good basic full size belt driven saw with an updated fence. Clean and lube it, align it, and put a good blade on it….it should be considerably nicer to use than your current saw.

Be patient. There are good values out there, but it takes keeping a watchful eye. Good luck in your search.

Those are capable saws. Most of them have an older style of
fence which isn’t so great compared to modern t-square
type fences, but you can do good work on them just the
same… it just takes a little more time to set up the cuts.

This Hitachi is a bit overpriced IMO, but could be worth an offer….listed 2 months ago. If still available, they should be willing to negotiate.

The hitachi looks to be in nice clean condition, otherwise I can’t help you as I don’y know that particular saw .Why not try offering him $250.00 and see what he says if he’s been waiting two months then he might do it.It should be a good saw which will help you get riolling. Alistair best wishes and have fun.

I am not completely set at the $250 limit, I just don’t have the budget for a $500+ table saw.

Thanks for the link on the Hitachi, that one did not come up in the St Louis area search I did. I am going to message the guy about the it, looks like a nice saw. Going to do some reading up on that particular model as well.

Seth, where are you located. I live just south of St. Louis and am on CL constantly.

I am in Southeast Iowa, it is about a 2.5hr drive to St Louis from here, but I have some family down south of St Louis, so I wouldn’t mind the drive for the right deal.

I was chuckling at this one this morning. Seems like he just decided to sell it right in the middle of a project.

This one is more expensive than the others, but is also worth more, and has an excellent fence….they just might accept an amount you can afford.
