Buy a SawStop Professional Cabinet Saw (PCS), get the integrated mobile base or the overarm dust collection attachment free via rebate. Promo runs Mar 1, 2014-Apr 30, 2014.

More details here:

Personally, I was thinking about the more heavy-duty mobile base, but out of these two choices I’d go with the integrated mobile base since the dust collection arm seems poorly-designed with those tight 90” bends.

It sure is a good thing this outfit labels the machines “professional and industrial”, Just wouldn’t know that otherwise.

I took advantage of this, a bit retroactively. Bought my PCS one week before the promo started. Didn’t know about it, and I bought the mobile base with my saw. Called Sawstop when I saw the ads, and they honored the deal even though I was a week early with my purchase. They sent out the overarm dust collection the same day I filled out my rebate form, and I had it in my hands the next day. Sawstop customer service is top-notch. Oh, and the saw is awesome!

Here is my 2 cents….

The industrial mobile base is the best tool base that I have every encountered. It lets me move my PCS around with ease and is still very stable when being used.

YES.. it is very expensive at about $299 but given my back issues, this was so much cheaper than it hurting and having to go back to the doctor.

A second thought….I am 6’ 3’’ and the saw was too low for me as I had to bend over it slightly and have a not so good back. I got the industrial base and built a platform in it and then mounted the saw on top. It ended up raising my saw about 6” which is comfortable for me. No matter what your height is, I think that it helps a lot to have your tools, workbench or anything that you spend time with at the best height for you.

Redoak49 – I am thinking of getting a SawStop myself and am pretty tall too (6’8”) – can you share more about how you raised your saw using the industrial base, and maybe share a picture or two?
