For sale is this Stanley Bailey No.6 corrugated bottom fore plane.
This plane appears to be a type 13(1925-1928). It is in very good condition.

This is a Sweetheart era plane and has the Sweetheart trademark on the cutting iron.
The knob and tote are in good shape with no cracks or repairs that I could find. They do have the typical dents and dings and some loss of finish.
The sole and sides of the base have a little staining. The japanning has a few areas of flaking but what remains is solidly attached.
The cutting iron has been sharpened and is ready for a final honing. The iron is short, with maybe an inch or so of usable length left.

Check the pictures and ask any questions you may have.

Asking $65 + shipping. This will fit in a medium flat rate box for $12.35.

Pick up at my shop in Willow Spring, NC is available.
Interesting trades will be considered.

Sweet #6 Mark! The # 6 seems to be often overlooked these days.

If I could only have one bench plane (2-8 that is) the six is the one I would keep !

If I needed another one a check would already be on the way !

I agree JB.

Patrick Leach made a comment on B&G that I think relegated the No.6 to ‘also ran’ status. I use my No.6 more than the No.7 or No.8. It is so much less tiring to use.

Right on. I find that pretty much anything that can be done with a 5 can be done with a 6 and assuming your a competent user it also will do most anything a 6 to 8 will do ! (some exceptions, but few)

Enjoy!

I already have a No. 6 that I love, or I, too, would be all over this one.
