My remote switch stopped working this weekend and when I looked it up I found that it is part of a recall due fire hazard. Has any one else had this issue? And was Woodstock International helpful for you? I have sent them a note and I’m waiting for there tech support to respond.

Now I’m nervous. I have a Shop Fox remote with 2 controls on my DC and it’s been working fine for over 5 years. (now my shop will burn down tonight!)

Hey LJ’s. Chillax on the nightmare of the burning shop. That has to be a fear for all of us out there in the wonderful land of woodworking. The tech support at Shop Fox called me and we had a nice chat about my issue. The ones that are a problem and overheated were defective right out of the box. If your unit is working and has ever worked they are not a part of the recall. He told me my unit may be wearing out and that might be why it was acting up. I gave my dust collector a long over due clean up and hit the reset on my shop fox and it has all been working great since that.
I sure hope that helps you and any others that might encounter issues with their equipment. I love the freedom of having a remote switch in my apron pocket to fire up the system when I want to.
Happy shop time to you all. Cheers.

Thank You! That puts my mind at ease. Do you happen to know if those remotes are still available? I got mine from Grizzly and don’t see them in their catalog now???

Sorry Doc. I don’t know about Grizzly. I got mine at Busy Bee http://www.busybeetools.com/categories/Dust-Collection/Dust-Collection/Accessories-for-Dust-Collection/
They might be shipping to the USA.

Thanks. If you can still get them, surely they are available somewhere here.

Edit: I didn’t see any Shop Fox units on that link so maybe they are off the market/
