Topic tags/keywords: goodall frog stanley frog hand plane restoration

I need a Type 5-8 Stanley frog with the short nose to restore my grandfather’s Goodall #3 plane to pass on to my son-a budding hand tool woodworker. The attached photos are of the broken frog originally on the hand plane. I have a Type 10-15 Stanley frog in good condition for trade if anyone is interested.

You might be surprised to find the stanley frog will fit.

The Goodall appears to be a Stanley knock-off, so I expect the Type 5-8 short nosed frog to fit. But I only have photos of that frog to compare to the broken one in the plane. From the attached photos, it’s obvious that the later frogs won’t work.
