Topic tags/keywords: wilton lathe turning

I have been looking for a nice starter Mini Lathe and this came in my email from Rockler. It is the Wilton 99177 Mini Lathe for $99.00. I read some of the reviews on several sites and it seems to be a good lathe. Does anyine here have an opinion on it or suggestions. I figure this would bea good starter lathe for me.
Thanks and Happy New Year

I am too, I think I’m sold on the Jet 12X20, about $350 after rebate.
I was eyeing that one up but seems a little underpowered, but for the price , what I have been finding out is the lathe is the cheapest part of turning, even if you buy a expensive lathe.
If you do decide on it some info I found in reviews was that Jet owns that Co. A person burt up his motor and couldn’t find customer service for Wilton, when He finally found it was Jet they sent him a new one so warranty won’t be an issue.
