Topic tags/keywords: question

About a year ago my cheap small compressor from workshop tools bit the dust. Hitachi was running a great sale, and I got their small compressor, and 18 ga, staple bun, and 18 ga. brad nailer, and a 23 ga. pin nailer. I loved them, and they were working flawlessly.

The other day, i went to use the 18 ga. nailer. It sounds like it’s working. I even makes a little dimple in the wood. But it doesn’t shoot out any brads. I was looking through the manual, and realized that I hadn’t lubricated it in a while. So I lubed it. It still isn’t working. I changed the brads, and it still isn’t working. I lubed that other 2 guns as a PM measure, but can’t get the 18 ga nailer to work. Any suggestions??

What air pressure are you nailing at?

Did you open it from the top and look for a jam?

Some nail brands work better than others in a
given nailer. I haven’t had trouble with Senco
or PC nails in my Hitachis. Hitachi nails aren’t
something I see stocked often.

Have your say...
