I’m wondering if it makes sense to turn the foot on a cabriole leg before sawing out the curved shape on a bandsaw. It just seems that you are asking for trouble by mounting a leg, although my dog sees no trouble with it, that has been shaped and therefore out of balance. Any thoughts?

Charles Neil has an excellent two part video on cabriole legs on youtube, very informative.
