For sale is this Stanley Bailey No.5 smooth bottom jack plane.
It appears to be a type 9 (1902-1907).

The knob and tote are intact, no cracks or repairs that I can find. Both have the normal dents and dings from 100+ years of use.
The cutting iron has great length left and is sharp and ready to work. It has ‘Stanley’ and ‘PAT. AP’L19.92’ stamped at the top.
There is one patent date stamped on the lateral lever.
There are two patent dates cast into the base behind the frog.
The tip of the lever on the lever cap is chipped.
The japanning has flaked off in several areas. What remains is solidly attached. There are a couple of paint drips here and there.

This is a great user that I should keep, but four jack planes is getting close to ridiculous. Maybe?

Anyway, I am asking $65 & shipping. This will fit in a medium flat rate box so shipping will be $12.35.
Local pickup at my shop in Willow Spring, NC is available.
Interesting trades will be considered.
