I have been advised that I should no longer wear any of my cap collection in public. I would like some help in locating a few woodworking themed baseball caps. I ordered one from Lost Art press and would like to find a few more that are simple and of equal quality.

Thanks

Who advises people that they should not wear certain caps in public?

I have gotten the same advice. You guys are either single or big talkers. :)

I recently got a Lie-Nielsen cap and like it a lot. This one looks pretty cool too:

I thought your original post was crystal clear, Ray.

10-4, Ray. Had me worried for a minute. There’s dozens of nice hats out there. A lot of them for free if you can find a source. Just be sure and get some cool ones, like your example. For starters, if you are familiar with Tommy Mac’s show on PBS, he has some great hats. You could probably pick up a couple there.

I know I shouldn’t. But . . . . Charles – just how did you know exactly what the OP was talking about?

Bc there is a theme of swmbo on this website. Had he said that he couldn’t wear them to work, that could mean a boss, but he said “public.” Only one person who can lay down the law for what can be worn in public.

I’d go with your wife’s suggestion. If she’s embarrassed or thinks someone might take offense at a hat, is it worth wearing the hat just for kicks or because “this is a free country and I can wear what I want”, who cares what anyone else thinks? I know this can turn into a nasty discussion and I don’t go in for all the PC crap, but honestly, a woodworking cap is better choice than something you loving wife thinks shouldn’t see the light of day.

PC has for sure gone over the top, but common decency has also lost a lot of good ground.

That’s my two cents.

Good luck.

Check with you local lumber company, they sometimes give them away.

I just can’t believe this is in the Hand Tools forum, Thought for sure the forum police would have been complaining by now.

Not to worry, I buy the hats with the little LED lights.
I consider it a tool because when I’m out in the field installing,
it’s a great tool for lighting the insides of a cabinet.
