I’m intrigued with Dennis Zongker’s book “Wooden Boxes”. Although I consider my skill level as decent in furniture making, minor box making, etc., I don’t have any carving or inlaying experience. So, I’m curious if anyone not having Dennis’ skill set has used his book to build any of his projects and what outcome was achieved?

I picked up the book at my library but didn’t build any of the projects because I don’t have the tools for most of them but they book looked well laid out and the plans seemed easy enough to follow. Making your own look as good as his won’t be easy but I think that he provides all that you need (no critique of your work intended, his stuff is just really really good).

I just had to purchase the book; with all the ‘eye candy’ of the boxes themselves and the fact that Dennis is a fellow Lumberjock, I just felt compelled. With that said, I’m going to have to come a ways in my abilities before I tackle one of those boxes!
