Topic tags/keywords: style

Okay, I’m new to the whole “furniture styles” thing. You know, where a project says, “oh, this is a ‘shaker’ style” or “mission” or “arts and craftsman”... (I’m guessing that doesn’t mean made with Sears tools.) Heck, there’s even a list of tags at the bottom of this form—but I sure don’t know what they mean.

Does anybody have a link, preferably with lots of pictures, that says what these different styles are and what characteristics makes a piece of furniture what style?

Thanks in advance,

Don’t neglect the study of Domestic Chinese Furniture. The Green brothers gave Chinese furniture a lot of study.

I’m sure there are many more out there as well.
