This weekend my good friend gave me a tool I have no idea what it is. I will post a couple of pics. The blade is 3” wide and 3.5” long. It all attaches to the bottom of the wood handle. The blade is held with a spring type latch,??. Anyone have any ideas what it is used for. The writing of the metal latch says SE Collins manufacturer, Valparaiso Ind. Pat. May 1.06

Thanks Jerome

It’s a scraper and holder. The holder makes it so you don’t burn your fingers from the heat the friction creates. Sharpen the blade, burnish a hook on it and you can pull some rather fine shavings from wood and handle tough grain.

Thanks Tim, I still have a little cleaning up to do and I will give it a try.
