For sale is this Stanley Bailey No.5 jack plane.
It appears to be a type 17 in very good condition.

The cutting iron is about full length and very sharp, ready for a final honing.
Most of the japanning is intact with a few areas with some chips flaking.
The knob and tote are in very good condition with some loss of finish mostly along the grain lines. The knob and tote appear to be beech.
The base casting is thick and heavy, typical of the type 17.

This will be a great user plane.

Asking $40 & shipping. This will fit in a medium flat rate box for $12.35.
Local pickup at my shop in Willow Spring, NC is available.
Interesting trades will be considered.
