Is it my computer or is the long format back. This time the website isn’t messed up but the blog and other areas are loooonnngggg. I guess it depends on the length of the blog. This long format is sort of ridiculous. If I were really verbose in a post then decided to put in a quoted article from another woodworkng website I wonder if i could make a post that would scroll about 20 screens down before you got to the review section? I wouldn’t do that of course but the design is poor.

Then again, maybe I’m the only one seeing it this way?

It is not just you. Perhaps this is the new Weekend Format.

Craftsman—Don’t take this personally, but I wish you were the only one. The code is definitely broken.

Well, It’s usable. I’ll leave it to the powers that be to work on it and be patient. At least LJ’s isn’t offline. And sometimes computer code can be daunting. It is especially true if you are working with something someone else has made. Particularly if they haven’t embedded markers in the code to indicate what that particular piece does. You first have to decipher what they were trying to do then find the errors in it that crept in while you were altering it.

Let’s give ‘em a brake and see what happens down the road.

I have a suggestion make your first post short and follow up with the long version.

There is about, what, eight posts about this? Last time ( about a week or so ago) it was fixed by monday evening, after a weekend that the programers had off, mind you. So….Maybe monday next, they will be back at the office to fix this????

It’s usable to some extent. Having the top 15 projects missing off the front page is very annoying. That is typically my favorite area.

ChuckV, you made me laugh at “the new Weekend Format.” I sure hope you are wrong but perhaps they get more internet hits on the weekend, so they give so much more space and give so much more preview area on the forum topics. What’s that tv commercial with the little kids talking about where more is better. I wonder why they did not give more of the top project posts, like the top 100 in no particular order.

Personally I believe that we have talk more than enough about this subject in the last week or so.
The long format does not bother me, in fact I believe that I like better.
Now if we only could talk about something else.
If you do not like it, do not look at it or fog somewhere else.
Long or short format , LJ is the best woodworking forum around. Enjoy it as it is

Gee b2rch that’s a bit harsh. I think that most of the comments are negative about the new format. You told us to log on to something else if we don’t like it. Basically if you don’t like it get lost. Using a blog post to discuss it only costs a few digital ones and zero’s. We discuss it if we like and it doesn’t hurt or cost anyone. If no one wants to read about it or comment they can go to the multitude of other posts. LJ’s is the best wood working site. It’s also a place that doesn’t need anyone trying to control it by telling people to shut up or leave. You are a bit offensive.

I don’t think it’s a new format, (i hope!) i think it’s a coding error. LJ is really a high quality site this shouldn’t happen.

It is a new feature in the same way that the Ford Pinto Rear Impact Detonation System was a new feature.
