Topic tags/keywords: jointer

Just wanted to take a moment to publicly thank another LJ for a generous deed. A few weeks ago I mentioned on a forum that I had always debated whether or not I should pickup a benchtop jointer if I ever saw a good deal on one. Eventually I’d like a big standalone 6 or 8”er but wrestled with picking up a little one that might be better than none. Well later that night I got a message from Jimmy aka waho6o9 saying that he had an old Delta that was collecting dust since he’d upgraded his and that if I wanted it it was mine for the price of shipping. Well I wasn’t about to pass that up and a few days ago it arrived in a homemade crate with written reassembly instructions (he’d already emailed me some assembly photos) and a business card with his info in case I had any questions. I got the whole thing put together in about 10 minutes and quickly produced a whole pile of shavings. Just wanted to give a little gloat and also make sure that this highly appreciated gesture didn’t go unnoticed. Here’s to you Wahoo!

-- It's made of wood. Real sturdy.--Chubbs Peterson

Very nice of you Jimmy. Great people in this community which is why I love this site. So much valuable information to be passed on to others and cases like this to boot.

You funny guys.

I’m stoked it went to someone that’ll appreciate and use it and seeing
how Ben needed something to get started I was thinking he would
dig it.

Great stuff. The best part is that the smile on your face when you use the jointer will be twice as big as it would have been anyway.

Ya done good waho.

Bad form to Bogart a joint(er).

Good karma, Waho!
