Had to pick up a furnace filter yesterday and I like to walk through the tool section looking for little yellow stickers that say “discount.” They had the Dewalt DW745 saw marked down from the $299 sale price to $229!! Do I need a jobsite saw at the moment? No, but the little Craftsman I do have has a terrible fence and I was never really happy with it, so Craigslist bound it will be. Check your local store this weekend and you may get lucky too.

It seems clear that Dewalt is phasing out that model, likely to replace it with an updated one. Amazon also had it on clearance for around that same price a week or two ago.

I saw this also at our local Home Depot and couldn’t pass it up. Original shelf price was $369, clearance price $229. I used two Home Depot gift cards and two Visa gift cards I had sitting around and walked out of the store having paid $80 for it. I’m sure it has it’s limitations, but it is a nice saw for that price.

It gets great reviews for what it is, some put it over the Bosch and Makita offerings. Good luck with yours.

That is the best portable on the market, IMO.

Put it in a Rousseau table with out feed and it is awesome.

I run a Freud full-kerf glue line rip blade in mine and it does beautiful work.

Looking at the Rousseau tables. I’d want the outfeed as well, but don’t have over $500 to drop on something like that now. Some day….

Thought I had seen a post on this saw within the last few days, found this: http://cleveland.craigslist.org/tls/4289662638.html this morning, though I don’t need one at the moment, I kinda want one, along with a few other things come to think of it!

If that’s near you and still available I’d jump. When you’ll need it you’ll have it.

I’m thinking about it, but I did get my credit card bill today upon which most of Christmas was purchased, so I think I’m gonna have to hold off on the wants for a little while and take care of some of the needs!

Understood. But it was a saw that went for $379 plus tax or thereabouts originally. It looks like the guy ran the fence into the blade once and got some paint on it, but if that’s the worst offense I’d stretch the budget.

I did notice the blade mark on the fence, I’m looking around my shop to see if I have anything I’m not using of similar value that the guy might want to trade for.
