Is it acceptable to simply throw old table saw blades in the garbage?

or should I do something else with it? (I’m not going to sharpen it or make something out of it…i want it gone)

I keep a bin for scrap steel behind the shop. Once a year I recycle it. Make a few bucks on it and take a niece or nephew out for ice cream.

Some crafters paint scenes on them and make clock faces out of them.

wrap duct tape around the teeth so they’re not exposed.

I’m curious. Why wouldn’t you sharpen? Izzy Swan on YouTube has a method that works very well and is dirt cheap.

Some folks do like to paint them.

You can run a “free” ad on Craigslist, put them out in a
box by the street and give the first person who inquires
the address to pick them up. I’ve given away records,
board games, other stuff this way. If the first person
flakes out, I just email the address to the next one.

You can use the saw plate to make tools from like marking knives and scrapers.

Thanks for the ideas, I found someone who wants it…actually the person who gave it to me….
