Hi Everyone, I just got a notification in my email box about this contest for Craftsman tools. You guys and gals out there are the real woodworkers. I’m only a wanna be. :) Take a look at this site down below and perhaps you will win something or the whole enchalada. Have a great and wonderful Christmas Holiday.

I saw the “workshop” that won as a runner-up. I didn’t think it was a very useful workshop—no leg vice, to tail vice. In fact, I didn’t see a vice at all! There wasn’t any dog holes either. I’m not sure how they clamp anything to that workbench. In addition, the top looked all glossy like they topped it with polyurethane so its probably really slippery too! Not good for holding down things and trying to work on it!

I appreciate the time they took into making it though. It just seemed more like basic storage area than a “workshop”.

Well, I gave it a try with an instructable on How To Make A Custom Fancy Walking Cane http://lumberjocks.com/projects/12742 . I managed to place as a finalist despite problems with people being able to register to vote, but didn’t quite make the cut as a winner. ~sigh~ It was a good learning experience, but it would have been a WONDERFUL learning experience with a $500. gift certificate in hand!

Maybe next time . . . .
