Topic tags/keywords: delta motor for sale new 1 12 horsepower joiner motor resource

I have a 1 1/2 hp high quality powerful motor made by Delta. It’s 3450 rpm, 115/230v, one phase, TEFC, 16.8/8.4 amps. The shaft is 5/8” diameter , 2 1/4” long with a key slot.

I had originally gotten it about 7-8 years ago from Delta to replace the motor in my Delta DJ-20 8” joiner, but never need it, so it’s never been used. This motor was made in the US, back before everything was made in China. As noted, it can be wired for either 115 or 230 volts.

You know that woodworking machines need powerful, long lasting motors to work properly in very dusty environments and this one fits the bill perfectly. It could be used as a replacement motor for any piece of machinery requiring a 1 1/2 horse motor, assuming you can fit it in if it’s not a Delta, or you could use it to power a home built tool.

It could be used in any number of applications requiring a motor with this much horsepower. It has a mounting plate that can be bolted to a solid support. Its uses are limited only by your imagination. And what a fantastic Christmas gift for the build-it-yourself lumberjock in your house. It’s something he/she would never expect in a miilion years. (Just kidding- sort of)

My research showed just one source for a motor that seemed to be the same. It’s a site selling replacement parts for Delta tools and they listed a motor like this one for around $500.00. I’ll sell it for $300.00 and ship it free, which is no small deal because this thing is heavy- about 30 lbs.

I can send a photo if interested.

And did I mention IT’S NEVER BEEN USED!!!!

No, I still have it. I’m probably going to list it on craigslist again in a few days. I’m amazed it didn’t sell at Christmas since it’s such a must have item and would have looked really great under the tree.!

Sorry but uinless you find someone who is about to buy a new motor with this foot plate etc then you are looking at a hobbiest thinking of using it for a project I see new motors single phase with a higher hpower than this make much less money.I don’t want to dampen your enthusiasm but check motors on ebay and check the price of motors as buying a replacement motor with an idea of fitting it exactly into a machine which has one burned out is usually compaNY overpriced in the first place I.E. $500 for such a small motor is very expensive in my humble opinion sorry but you did ask.Alistair
