I just bought a Masterforce jointer yesterday and wanted to know where I can get a extra set of knives for it.
Menards doesn’t sell them of course!

You could pull one out and measure it and try to match them up with another brand. My craftsman planer uses the same blades as masterforce and the local Menards stocks them.

im sure that this is a clone of another tool (but I don’t know for sure) but if you can figure that out now you have two brands to search for replacement blades for. Check amazon I think I saw some third party replacement jointer knives recently

I guess I answered my own question!
After getting the jointer home, I called the 800 number provided and talked to the parts department guy.
He told me they no longer sell new cutter knives to the jointer. I said the model jointer was only discontinued in 2012 and he confirmed that. Said I could buy the knives from Sears, because the same jointer was sold as a craftsman jointer. He even gave me a part number. I called Sears and they also no longer offer the cutter knives.
So even though it was a super deal on the jointer, like less than $200, I took it back today and got a refund. The manager asked me why I didn’t want it and explained the problem with not being able to get replacement knives for it. He simply said give him back his money. I asked him what he intended to do with the jointer and he said he didn’t know, but he wouldn’t buy it either if he couldn’t get parts for it either.
It’s too bad, because I was really hoping I could find cutter knives for it. It was just simply a deal too goodto be true.

Did you check Amazon? They have a whole bunch of 3rd party knives for all sorts of Craftsman/Grizzly/Jet/etc… jointers.

The knife brand is Powertec (and Freud makes some too).

If you got a great deal on the jointer, you may want to reconsider re-buying it. (assuming Amazon has the knives of course)

Jointer knives are generally sold by the major dimensions….L x W X H, and are not usually specific to a single machine. ie: 6-1/8” x 1” x 1/8”. You should be able to buy jointer knives that fit from many suppliers….Holbren, Infinity, Amazon, Grizzly, Ebay, Hartville Tool, etc.

IMO you jumped the gun with the return.
