My new denim coat was so shiny and bright, till i wore it to the shop one cold winter night.
Oops! a splash of poly, you’ll be alright just keep me warm this cold winter night.
Tung oil, grease. dust, stains, decorates you now. You get so dirty i don’t know how.
I wash you often, but to no avail you still look awful and sometimes you smell.
Glue on my fingers oh what do i do? No where else so it goes on you.
Wear you to the hardware? Proudly i do. Seems like no one loves you as much as i do.
So if you keep me warm. Tell you what i’ll do. I’ll wear you till spring. That’s all i can do.
You’ll hang on a nail, inside the shop door, till winter comes back when i’ll wear you once more.

Great little rhyme, lunn.
Mine’s not denim but a “duck cloth” “barn coat”. It to is a coat of many colors.

My carhart jeans resemble that remark, and so does the shop jacket hanging beside the door. Thank you
for sharing and bringing a smile to us.

Not bad. A lot of poetry is written about the majesty of nature or inspired by all-consuming love but
all that high-faluting stuff gets samey after a while.
