Lat week I posted an observation that there were so many members and comparatively few projects posted, and that the projects came from a fairly select number of members. If you now look at the projects page, it apears there are MANY new projects from new members or members with few previous posts. IS it possible that our encouraging words helped motivate folks to share with us. I certainly hope so and call for move of the same. I was especially thrilled to read the story from the guy who discussed the problems and errors he made in his first project. To share your mistakes is a true craftsman. One who is learninmg and not ashamed to say just that. WE were ALL there. Ive been building chessboards for 40 years and reading this forum, since becoming a member only a month ago, I learned a new technique that can shorten my construction time 40%. I would really like to see posted a CRAP project. One that has mryiad screwups that you can drive a truck thu, lol. And have the poster reveal all that he did wrong and how he wouldnt make those mistakes again. Ill check my files. I know ive screwed up a hell of a lot. just hope i didnt just bury my mistakes (like I was a doctor ot something.) -- Dan |
