Topic tags/keywords: old hand plane question

This is a #6 hand plane that I got from my dad. Want to tune it up. Asked Stumpy because he has so many. He suggested asking my fellow LumberJock’s.

So here it is. It’s @ 17 1/2” long. Has a #6 making, but no maker. corrugated bottom. Looking to replace parts if possible?

Thanks!

Won’t let me upload the pictures. GRRRR

Make sure you press “insert this image” after you have chosen the file.

How big is the picture? LJ’s won’t take a picture that’s too large. You may have to edit it to get it down to a size that LJs will accept. Maybe someone else can chime in with the maximum size?

I typically limit the width to 600 for a good fit.

If that 600 pixel width is at 72 dpi (dots per inch), then it should load. This is a silly question, I’m sure, but is it a jpeg or a png?

jpeg and it’s 1 meg which is why it won’t upload, May have to do this again after I figure out how to downsized the pixtals. It’s uploaded in Picasa, and stored in my files.

Doc, would you like to send me the file? I spent 35 years in the advertising/graphics business, so I’m pretty good at making files do what I want. Just PM me for the email address.
