I looked forever to find some NM Romex with Copper for doing my workshop subpanel.
The Romex is so much easier to bend into the panel, and since its in Romex, you dont have to worry about running some type of conduit between the studs like you would for single insulated wires.

I bought way too much. I have a 4ft section which is perfect for a subpanel next to a main panel.

$20 Shipped.

They stock that at HD, sell it by the foot.

Forgot to mention that it’s got a 8 awg ground.

I don’t know about now, but my 2002? NEC book says the ground can only be 1 size smaller than the conductors.

Maybe Horizontal Mike will chime in here.

but is it legal per NEC?

Actually, I have 35’ of SJOO #6 with #8 ground I would sell for $5/foot if anyone wanted it.
I wasn’t trying to start a confrontation, just list what I know of the code requirements, your area may be different. Not everyplace adopts the NEC.
