Before I get carried away, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Now for the new tool. I just ordered a California Air Tools portable compressor. It weight 39#, it’s whisper quiet, 1 HP, pumps up from empty in 50 seconds and recovers in 20 seconds. The tank is aluminum. Will drive 6 framing nails before cycling. I will be using it mostly for brad and pin nailers and occasionally for a 15 ga nailer. For framing, I can use my big IR compressor. It will be a relief not to hear the pancake compressor run. I’ll do a review on it when I get it in about a week.

Please write a review! I have been looking at the 2hp model to replace an ancient Craftsman twin stack that is about ready to give up the ghost. Who are you ordering it from? They are on the Big Orange web site, and I thought about having it shipped to the store for no charge. Freight or tax, it makes little difference.

I’ve been eyeing that very compressor for a while, waiting for the right combination of cash and need for it. I’m interested to know what you think of it.

I ordered the air compressor from Amazon. It cost me $174.60, free shipping and no tax. You could get 2-day free shipping, but you had to surscribe to some promotional that you can opt out after 30 days. I didn’t bother since shipping will be slow anyway over the holidays. I can’t wait until I can try this a/c. I will post a review when I get it.
