Not sure if anyone is following along with the PWW 31 days of Christmas contest but I have.

The grand prize is a tool storage cabinet that was featured in the magazine a few months ago plus a $1000 LV gift card to fill it. I’ve never really considered spending that much with LV as I’m not too big into hand tools (yet!). Just wondering what you guys would get if you had a $1000 to spend.

PM-V11 Chisel set, a block plane and a shoulder plane or two and poof, the money is all gone!

bevel up smoother and the PM-V11 chisel set, pretty sure I could come up with another thing or 2.

A #7 Jointer plan, small router plane, Carcus rip saw, dovetail saw, sharpening products, and then see what’s left.

Not sure what I would buy, but thanks for the heads up on the contest. Wish I would have found out sooner. Thinking about it a bit, I would probably buy some more chisels, some decent hand planes and a 50” straight edge, some measuring and marking devices, like squares and knives. Boy that $1000 went faster than I thought and most likely didn’t cover half of what I would want. Good luck all.

Oh great, now the odds just got worse for me with you guys getting into the mix…lol…
Let’s see, I would get a wet desk from my drooling on it while looking at what is available on their web site. Even though I enter as often as I can, I never seen to win.so looking and dreaming is all I can do.

I can assure you your odds of winning will not change if I enter that contest (LOL).

Ohhh….that grand would go quick. I’m pretty set on bench planes. Probably some joinery planes and a quick release vise.

I find it interesting how much veritas chisels cost. More than LN by a bit.

I guess like i’m like you guys, but instead of rounding out my handtool collection i’d just be getting a great jump on it. chisels, handplanes, vises, handsaws, some sharpening stuff.
