Topic tags/keywords: question

Hey guys I’m fairly new to the site and I have a technical question. I uploaded my first picture and it’s sideways. I know it’s probably because I took it on my phone. But as it’s my only camera was wondering if anyone knows how to rotate it. Thanks in advance if there is an answer out there :)

Download it to your computer.
Open with any image program – even paint will work in a pinch.
Use the rotate button to adjust it.
Save.

On the chance it’s an iphone you’re using, taking the picture sideways does the trick for me “in a pinch,” as Joe says. Sounds silly, but it eliminates a step.

Came in to recommend GIMP as an awesome free graphics manipulation program, for when you get to the sorts of manipulations that go further than JustJoe’s suggestion will allow.

Most phones will let you crop, rotate, etc. so no need to download.
