Topic tags/keywords: corner fireplace mantle and framing offset by 4 wide on one side

I,m looking at refinishing a corner fireplace. I will do it in oak. I want to do a mantle, sides and hearth. Problem is the fireplace frame on one side is 9” from the wall and the other side is 13” from the wall. How would you overcome the inbalance so it looked acceptable. Would dry walling the longer side 4” on the angle look right ?

This is my intended solution to a drab corner fireplace.
