For sale is this Stanley Bailey No.5 jack plane.
It appears to be a type 9 in good condition.

There are 2 patent dates behind the frog. It does not have the frog adjustment screw.
The tote has a tightly repaired crack near the base. Other than that the knob and tote are in very good condition.
There is some staining on the sole of the plane and a small amount of staining on the sides.

The iron is good and sharp and the plane is ready to put to work.

Asking $45 + shipping. This will fit in a medium flat rate box so shipping will be $12.35 or less.

Mark,

You always post the main Number of each Plane and then, the Type.

I can see the Number on my planes… but, NO Type.

Where do you get the Type information?

Hey Joe.

Here are a couple of sources:
https://home.comcast.net/~rarebear/planes101/typing/typing.htm
https://home.comcast.net/~rarebear/planes101/typing/plane_typing.txt

I have a printed copy of that second link out in the shop as a cheat sheet.

This is another page with links to all kinds of info:
http://www.hyperkitten.com/tools/stanley_bench_plane/

And of course you can just Google “Stanley plane type study”
