I have looked around on here a few times and had every intension of joining a few times but never took the time. I have always dabbled in wood working since I was a small child, working with my grandfather in the wood shop as a way for us to spend time together. We participated in our local 4H summer wood working competition all the way through elementary school. Those days we spent together were some of my fondest memories. We miss him tremendously. As I finally got through school and settled into life, I began slowly picking up the hobby again…mostly as a way to try to enrich our home with trim and moldings that the builder had not added. Due to a job changed we more recently delved into a modest home remodeling project, with a few torn out walls, some minor electrical work, modest dry wall work, lighting and trim. I want to start getting into some more intricate projects with furniture (tables, chairs, buffets etc). My wife and I have enjoyed doing these projects together, with me doing the wood work and she taking care of the paint and stain. I hope to get some great advice from you more advanced wood workers, suggestions on tool choices etc. Below are a few pics of past projects:
My First Big Project…everything made from hand on this one.
My most recent project…I utilized Lowes unfinished cabinets in this project to speed up the process.
