I have use blue, pink, and white aluminum oxide grinding wheels for sharpening my tools. Currently using two Norton 3x SG wheels (light blue) 46 grit for changing bevel angle & repair damage tools and 80 grit for re-sharpening. Have never used Norton SG Ceramic wheels but many turners love them.

Cannot buy friable grinding wheels in my town so shop mail order. Most venders carry Norton or Camel grinding wheels. Need to dress Camel wheels more than Norton but they work too. I shop for sales or best price.

Lately best vendors for me have been;

http://www.packardwoodworks.com

When my old bench grinder dies will be upgrading to an 8” grinder and buying a CBN wheel from DWay tools.
