For sale is this Stanley Bailey No.5 type 4 pre-lateral jack plane. (1874-1884)
The plane is in very good condition.

The rosewood tote and beaded knob have normal dents and dings but no cracks or repairs that I can see.
There are some paint drops/smears on the knob, tote and base.
Most of the japanning remains.
The lever cap has a solid back.
The cap iron has the Bailey patent stamp as does the brass depth adjustment nut.
It has the long solid brass nut on the tote screw.
The nearly full length iron is a newer laminated iron with the Stanley notched logo.
There is some shallow pitting on the cap iron and at the top of the frog.
The smooth bottom and sides have some staining and some shallow pitting.
There is a shallow scratch/gouge on the right side near the bottom.

Asking $70 + shipping. Shipping will be flat rate at $12.35 or less.
