Topic tags/keywords: tip trick resource

Sears website is currently showing some Grizzly tools for sale on their website. Today only, Ebates.com is offering 10% Cashback on Sears purchases….in addition to signing up, the only requirement I’m aware of is that the transaction must be originated through the Ebates.com website. The money comes back to you in about 60 days via check or PayPal. I can’t say from experience that the discount definitely WILL apply to Griz tools via Sears, but it definitely works for any other purchase I’ve made through Ebates.com. This is in addition to any other coupons and discounts that Sears will apply. For anyone who’s ready to pull the trigger on a Griz tool, it’s definitely worth a shot. Ebates also offers discounts of varying amounts with other retailers such as Lowes, HD, KMart, etc.

Good luck, and please post if you try it.

Is there a way to ask Sears or Grizzly or Ebates before clicking the “buy” button?

Ebates lists this for sears:
Sears: Cash back is not available on gift cards, Sears Auto Center tire purchases, Sears Wireless Purchases, Sears PartsDirect, Sears Canada, Portrait, or Outlet purchases, Home Delivery Charge, PA & Installation and Master Protection Agreements, and Sears Marketplace items that must be paid for on another site.

And on Sears the small print under the Grizzly items say: Sold by Grizzly Industrial, Inc. and Fulfilled by Grizzly Industrial, Inc.
And the website tab up top says:
Sears Marketplace: Shop millions of items…

But the checkout, at least as far as I clicked, still says Sears, it doesn’t send me to Grizzly.

From the mouse type:

Exclusions: Cash back is not available on gift cards, Sears Auto Center tire purchases, Sears Wireless Purchases, Sears PartsDirect, Sears Canada, Portrait, or Outlet purchases, Home Delivery Charge, PA & Installation and Master Protection Agreements, and Sears Marketplace items that must be paid for on another site.

The last point says that Sears Marketplace items that must be paid for on another site are excluded. All Grizzly items are sold on the Sears website as marketplace items, but I don’t know how they collect the money, so seems like a maybe at best. One thing I noticed though is that if I buy this through Sears, I’m charged sales tax (in GA), but buying direct through Grizzly has no tax.

As others before me stated above, there is a catch….The Grizzly items on the Sears website is sold through Marketplace and not directly through/by Sears….The Ebates is good with purchases through Sears….I belong to Ebates too, and I tried in the past to purchase a Dewalt tool sold by Marketplace but on the Sears website I went through via Ebates to get the cash back and it didn’t work for me….maybe others trying this will have success…

I don’t know the answers to any of the fine print questions, but I do know that I got a $28.50 Ebate on Sears tires very recently.

”Dear Scott:
Your Ebates account has been updated to reflect recent shopping activity. Please remember to start at Ebates.com every time you shop online.

Date Store Order Number Cash Back Status
11/29/2013 Sears 600##### $28.50 Purchase”

Congrats on your cash back Scott….and thanks for posting this info…. but the Ebates 10% rebate applies to items sold and fulfilled by Sears. I think the exclusion here is the Grizzly is sold by and fulfilled by Grizzly even though they are found on the Sears Marketplace website….For curiosity sake, I just “tried” to purchase a 17” bandsaw and the 10% Ebates code SEARSTOOLS I entered was unusable…

Well, here in Tennessee the tax rate is nearly 10% so that kills the value of the Ebate deal anyway.
