Man if that’s the planer in the foreground, you might be glad the deal is done!

Like the last one someone posted…it seems too good to be true, doesn’t it?

Yup…that would have been a no-brainer! I’d have had a sliding table on it and left it up in the garage for sheet goods in a second. Craig’s list in my area usually has nothing though.

I see deals like this all the time on craigslist. I also browse the free part of the forum for folks looking to get rid of wood. I’m also an avid landscaper and my daughter just bought her 1st house. I’ve transplanted probably about $4,000 worth of free trees and bushes into her yard, one a 12’ cherry tree. Almost all from craigslist. You can also find a lot of plants and such and old furniture waiting for refinishing or rebuilding/recycling at freecycle.org

I did not call. I saw it about 2 hours after it was posted and I already have a unisaw. No room. I agree Bob. Lots of good stuff on craigs list if your quick.

Jamie, I would snatch that thing, reworked a little it would have 1000 uses in my shop . I live in the boonies, any of the big cities are 3 hours one way. I see stuff on Chicago C-list that freaks me out, if it was local I would buy it all. My problem is the round trip and dealing shoots a whole day. So subtract what I could make working instead of getting a good deal, it is null. I could get some local yahoo to make a road trip…but they don’t know tools and I would end up with a beater tool and be out the gas/beer money for the dummy who dragged it home.
I really rarely look an C-list just because I get envious when I think of the deals I could get.

Cresents are great bandsaws. I would love to restore one. Were you able to get it?

The local Craigslist here does not have a lot of tools. So far no bargains like those others have found.

I just discoverd craigslist recently and I’ve bought and sold a lot on it in just 1 week.

- I bought an almost new Delta 14” Bandsaw for $200.00.
- I bought a brand-new Ridgid shop vac for $45.00, retails for $120.00.
- I sold 6 laptops for a total of $300.00
- I sold a bunch of candlemaking stuff for $260.00

So far, I’m coming out ahead!
