There is a Grizzly 1021 planer for sale on my local Craigs List. The guy is asking $780 and it’s missing the outfeed table. Does anyone have any experience with this machine? I believe Grizzly was selling this for $775 new. What would be a fair price assuming it works properly? Is this model even worth pursuing?

Yes, I have quite a lot of time on that planer. That was the two horse model.

I think the seller is 200-250 too high on that one. If its it’s tight and not rattling it would make you a nice one.

I wouldn’t be too concerned about the out feed rack on it as you can use the indeed rack on either end.

Mine. Had near a twenty year sentence with me doing hard time with little more than knife changes.

Worth a look, but if your planning on paying his asking price you might consider going with a new one!

If I make him an offer it will be $400. I’ll let it sit a while longer, though. If he sells it in the mean time so be it.
