The mailman brought me my Thompson lathe tools today! I got the 1/8” parting tool, 3/8” spindle gouge, 3/8” Bowl gouge, and 3/4” bowl gouge. Now all I have to do is wait for my lathe to get here that I ordered on black friday so I can make some handles for them and try them out! If I like them I might order some more! :D

Looking forward to hearing how they work for you. Debating on buying a bowl gouge myself. There seems to be so much snake oil with lathe tools, but there website seems straight forward.

I’ll vouch for Thompson tools. I have several, and use them all the time.

Just some quick pics, if there is a particular part of the tool you want let me know I will try to take it.

Better pics upon request lol, my internet is slow so loading a lot of photos is difficult and annoying.

Congtats on the purchase of quality tools.. I purchased a 1/2 deep V bowl gouge about 3 years ago, and it scared to stuff out of me every time I used it. It took 2 years before I could just get it and use it like it’s meant to be used….. Jerry (in Tucson)

Maybe do a blog on how to use the V bowl gouge Jerry as it looks

like a challenge to master.
