I need to find some thicker walnut in order to eliminate as many glue joints as possible. I’m making a small stand for a vase. The base of the piece is basically a block that is 12” long, 10” wide, and 3” thick. On top of that piece will be a turned piece that is 7-8” round and 3” thick. It looks like a “tuscan” base if you want to google it.

Anyone want to help me source out this little bit of wood around Chattanooga. Already tried Chattanooga hardword and Cline lumber. They are the only sources I know of. I don’t do to much of this kind of work so sorry if I’m not too knowledgeable about sources.

I used to live in Chattanooga and bought a lot of walnut from Conasauga River Lumber Co. You might give them a try. They are located south east of cleveland.

Wurth in East Ridge?

Peach State Lumber in Kennesaw is great.
