I acquired a nice Makita 2030 (brown) recently, but in the process of moving it, the machine tipped over and the chain cover (Makita 164459-6) was smashed. Badly smashed. I’ve tried every online parts source, most of which have outdated inventories, but none are available and Makita USA confirms that fact.

So, does anyone happen to have a broken 2030 sitting in the backyard they’ve been parting out that has that chain cover? In the parts diagram it is part #2.

I thought about recreating it in fiberglass or something, but I’m a bit of a stickler for original.

You can email me if you like. mgoulde no space at no space gmail period com
