I’ve been around the site for a while but since most of my questions have been asked and answered by others I haven’t taken to time to post much.

I have an older Penn State Super 125 planer that I inherited from my grandfather’s shop. It worked well when I got it but since I decided to change knives I can’t seem to get it back in good shape. I’m not sure at what height to set the knives as I don’t have the knife setting guide. I do have the manual, although it isn’t much help. I tried using a mini planer pal magnetic jig thinking the setting would be the same but it isn’t. It looks like the only adjustment I can make to the cutter head is the knife depth. I don’t see any adjustment for roller pressure or height. Right now my knives are about 0.080” above the cutter shaft but I think they need to be lower. I’ve been trying to figure this out by trial and error but hopefully someone else has one of these and can provide some insight.

I tried calling Penn State and they don’t sell the setting guide and couldn’t tell me the proper height for the knives.

I purchased the same planer at a garage sale a few months ago and just got around to go over it. Preliminary finding are rusted rollers on the bottom but it does power on. Don’t know the condition of the knives and don’t have the manual. Would it be too much to ask for a copy of the manual or at least let me know where I can find one?
